IMAGE AND MIRROR

2 CORINTHIANS 3:18

You cannot function in life differently from how you see yourself. There is a peculiarity about the creation of God in that every one of us is responding to an image. If that image is wrong, then your response to life will be wrong. Jesus came to give us a right image.

In fact the Bible says that the Holy Spirit works in us to shape us into the image of Jesus Christ. God has a picture of what you really are and until you have that same picture, you and God will be working against each other. The power of the image you carry inside you is what governs your performance in life and guards you against self-deception.
So many people struggle in life because of a wrong image they have about themselves. When you look at the wrong mirror you will get a wrong image. What you are called by men may not be what God calls you. When you follow a wrong image, then your life follows that image and is formed wrongly.
As a man thinketh in his heart so is he (Prov. 23:7).
The secret to transformation is a changed image. What mirror are you looking at? What image of yourself and your destiny have you seen and are you following? Success in life is not about money but the image you have about yourself. Success does not follow the color of your skin, height or other physical things; it is about the mirror you are looking at and the image of yourself you see in it. Never live your life by any visible thing as visible things are deceptive. The only proof that something will not last is that it is visible.
You will never change your life by changing the external things about yourself. To begin to do something differently in life you must start by seeing something different. You must see something different to do something different. What you see is what you can possess or become. When people have the right image in themselves they don’t ask why me, but why not me. People with right image see themselves as positioned to make it in life while People with the wrong image see life as standing against them. The brothers of David saw Goliath standing against them; in fact they saw him as too tall and big to be defeated while David saw Goliath as an opportunity to glorify God. He saw God as able to slay him but the army of Israel were looking up to Saul their King.
Prayer: Lord, I receive the revelation of my purpose and destiny to see with your eyes and to interprete events, situations and life generally with the accurate image and perspective of the divine in Jesus’ name. Amen.
