New levels, New devils

The devil’s attack does not always mean you are low spiritually or you are involved in sin; although being low spiritually or being involved with sin and iniquity can make you susceptible to the devil’s attacks. Some Christians only associate good things with God; God is good but our journey on earth doesn’t always flow that way because the devil has been cast down to the earth (Revelations 12:12).

God will not sit by and watch the devil ravage His children but He will do either of two things:

1. Tell you how to avert the devil’s attacks.

2. Prepare you ahead so you are armed and victorious when Satan attacks.

Interestingly, Satan’s attacks come more often when your spiritual progress is threatening his reign in your affairs. He attacks in order to break your focus and pull you down. In the hour when Jesus’ soul was exceedingly burdened, the devil didn’t use sexual temptation, but a calculated effort to distract him from fulfilling his purpose of dying on the cross.

The devil always has a new strategy for every new level you attain. Memorize it as “new levels, new devils,” but God is committed to making you stronger than the devils in your next level, you only need to master every training and receive the equipping God is bringing your way, because you will need it.

Instead of asking, “what did I do wrong?” You could ask “what spiritual height am I attaining that the devil wants to prevent?” In football, regardless of a striker’s reputation, he is not a threat until he gets the ball. Similarly, when you’re close to your victory, the devil intensifies efforts to prevent you from scoring critical goals in life and destiny.
